Event Details

It seems that everyday we witness this conflict being played out in the news. From Brexit to Hong Kong, no one is immune. So with the approaching U.S. elections almost upon us, join AMCHAM on Thursday, 05 September for a robust and topical discussion around some of the the tensions in both politics and trade impacting the way in which countries are navigating a new world.

How the U.S. Presidential campaign will impact US-China trade tensions, other trade deals and the regional affects -- and how it will not. AMCHAM brings to you Steve Okun, McLarty Associates, who will provide insights to the state of U.S. politics, what to watch for in the Democratic nomination process as well as provide insight into the current trade war tensions.

The shifting political, social and governmental environment in the United States was not created by Donald Trump -- but it enabled him to get elected. Coupled with the realization that China was not going to become more like the US, a consensus developed across both political parties and the business community that the US needs a different, more confrontational approach to China.
